Help me reach my goal of raising lifetime $50,000 for SF/AIDS Foundation

On June 2, 2024, I'll be standing with ~2,000 others at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. An hour later, we'll wheel out the bicycles we've been training on for the past year. We'll clip in and begin a 7 day ride to Los Angeles. The ride is called the AIDS Lifecycle, a 545-mile bike ride to LA to raise money to find a cure for AIDSand support the LGBTQ+ community.

I hope you'll join me in raising funds to support my AIDS/Lifecycle 2023 fundraising campaign.

Why I love the SF AIDS Foundation

This organization has done so much good to improve public health internationally, nationally and locally in San Francisco. Here are just a few examples of the great work SF AIDS Foundation has done:

  • Provide services to underinsured and uninsured people in the SF area

  • Advocating and conducting the research to make PREP and Doxy PEP a part of the public health arsenal to prevent the spread of HIV

  • Played a leading role in the passage of the landmark legislation, the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act (C.A.R.E.) which provides federal funds for community-based care and treatment services.

  • They were critical in the 2022 Monkey pox intervention in SF, preventing another pandemic

What does the money do?

This fundraising provides equitable access to prevention, care, and support programs for everyone.  At San Francisco AIDS Foundation they continue to center the communities with the highest risks through programs like Black Brothers Esteem, provide Spanish language support groups and offer programming specifically tailored to the needs of trans and non-binary folks. SF AIDS Foundation also has made major impacts on policy and development of PREP, sharply reducing the transmission of HIV in SF and impacting global policy on its use.

  • $30 covers the treatment medication for 1 client infected with an STD

  • $50 provides a mobile phone for a client living with HIV so they can stay in touch with their support system and be reminded of upcoming medical appointments.

  • $180 provides HIV prevention counseling sessions to 20 teenagers

  • $100 provides 10 gay, bi, and queer Black men with 1-on-1 counseling services for one month.

  • $250 enables 20 trans and gender non-binary clients to meet weekly and build meaningful connections or  Rapid HIV Antibody tests to 20 clients

  • $1,000 covers a full year of medical supply costs for 40 patients

Again, any amount makes a difference - even a $25 donations really add up. If financial support is not in the cards right now, could you consider sharing my efforts and my fundraising link?
